Reeves recently finished his second draft of the script, which is now set in Reagan-era Colorado, and is currently scouting locations that will maintain the film and book's snowy landscapes. Although he didn't mention when shooting is planned to start (from the sounds of it, it'll probably be this winter if he plans to take advantage of the necessary weather conditions on his location shoots), he stated that the release date is now Fall 2010, as opposed to January 15.
Also, Reeves is working with casting director Avy Kaufman to find the two leads for the film and "vows [the children] will not be aged-up to make the film more of a smoldering 'Twilight'-style romance," so everyone can rest easy tonight.
Everyone should know the plot, the original is a 5 out of 5. Though that does not mean it is a 5 out of 5 in enjoyment level. Just on a film level.
The remake will be fine.
What does everyone think of this?

I know you're huge on this original, so I purposely tried it as the last one to see if there was a thread already, as I knew you were online and wanted to see it you'd already do it.

I really do like the original. I love it as a film, but as a horror film it kinda fails. I love saying Twilight is better, it pisses people off to know end.

Yeah you should try saying that on Dreadcentral! Even one of the people on there who was a big fan of the books hated Twilight with a passion, i'll bet they'd go ballistic if you ever championed it over Let The Right One In.

Definitely something to get excited about. Looking a little better, but I can't say I'm all that excited for it.
