Anyone seen this little TV-special type deal? I just re-watched it last night. Great stuff, and I applaud that they used obscure titles as well. Though, IMO, the placement of some films was pretty questionable.

I absolutely hated it. I rolled my eyes so often at that special it was insane. Great, you gave the obscure stuff some love, you still put way too much on stuff that shouldn't be there as either it was scary at the time but not anymore (The Exorcist, Halloween, Jaws, TCM, etc) or featuring crap that wasn't even horror (The Dead Zone, The Tenant, etc) plus it had one of my ultra-despised pet peeves about a show like this: trying to applaud something for being scary, then hiring a bunch of lame comedies to make fun and parody what they're trying to build up as something to make you jump out of your skin or crap your pants, whatever expression you want to use. If you want to celebrate something as creepy or chilling or terrifying, what's the point in getting laughs out of it (or at least trying to) by hiring a bunch of unfunny comedians? Have the talking heads who know what they're talking about (Guillermo del Toro, that Argento biographer who looks like Michael Berrymore you see pop up all over the place but I can't remember his name, that female psychologist I also can't remember her name, Gilbert Gottfried who I liked hearing about since he was sincere in his praising) and leave the giggling schoolgirls and wannabe celebrities who crack jokes at the stuff off the air.

There was also a two-part sequel called "30 Even Scarier Movie Moments" and another one called "13 Scarier Movie Moments" Did either of you see those 2?

Well, I thought it was alright, though I personally didn't find any of them "scary"... some were creepy or sort of uncomfortable to watch, but not scary. And putting Hostel at #1 was utter bullshit IMO.

I haven't gotten to them yet, and I'm not really interested. Not my thing.
