PFG Entertainment is currently working on an adaptation of Peter Straub's Shadowland. Being helmed by Erik Canuel from a screenplay by Larry Leahy, the film is a cross between Dead Poet's Society and The Shining. Being filmed in 3D, Shadowland is a teenage Faustian-thriller about a 17-year-old schoolboy who has to make the choice of whether or not to join the forces of evil in order to save the life of his best friend.
What does everyone think of this?
Maybe I will read the book.

Yeah, I HATE Dead Poets Society with a fucking passion! So i'm definitely going to avoid ANY film that's compared to that piece of shit!

Well just because the author is a good writer dosen't automatically mean the movie will be any good.

Well for me, ANY film that's compared ot a shitfest like Dead Poets Society and an immensely overrated film like The Shining can't be much then both of them, hell it might be even WORSE then both of those films!

Regardless of the quality of the writer, for myself, judged on the plot description given, this sounds like a piece of shit. It might not be, but so far, that's my first impression of it.
