The new "Buffy" film, however, would have no connection to the TV series, nor would it use popular supporting characters like Angel, Willow, Xander or Spike. Vertigo and Kuzui are looking to restart the story line without trampling on the beloved existing universe created by Whedon, putting the parties in a similar situation faced by Paramount, J.J. Abrams and his crew when relaunching "Star Trek. More info on this available HERE.

Oh I like the original film, I knew they would remake this at some point, yes I am happy to hear this. I will give it a go, the original was a good horror comedy and I see this being one to.

I'd rather it be connected more to the show, I have a knowledge and exposure to that one, while I never saw the movie at all as I thought it looked stupid.

Is stupid really bad?
I did not like the show to be honest, never got the hype. Best to move on, the show is over.

Well, at the time it would be something that held me back as I would rather take something else that looked good, but I've grown up a lot (or de-volved, if you want to be asinine about it) so it might be something I'll watch nowadays.
