A cash-strapped college student named Samantha (Jocelin Donahue) takes a babysitting job during a full lunar eclipse and ends up fighting for her life. She soon discovers that her employers, Tom (Tom Noonan) and Mary (Mary Woronov) Ulman, are hiding a wicked, sick and twisted secret. Ti West (Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever) writes, directs and edits this terrifying film set in the early 1980s. Greta Gerwig and AJ Bowen co-star.
This is probably the best horror film of 2009, if you can think of one that is better let me know so I can check it out. I loved every minute of this one.

I see this listed every month on my TV but only on the HD channels, which I don't have. Pisses me off.

I think this movie did what Death Proof and Planet Terror tried to do but failed miserably. I swear if I had seen this on TV not knowing anything about it I would have thought it came out in the 80s. I can see why some would not like it, I thought the pace of the movie added to the suspense. It worked for me though.

Far better then The Strangers and a near masterpiece. They put so much effort into it. I liked the pace. I thought it was creepy. I thought the end was the weakest part of it.

The whole family was a devil cult and the main girl shot herself so she would not be effected but she survived in a coma or something like that.

No it was not that it was dumb it was all very unexiting. I LOVED the creepy setup. I just did not think the pay off was as good as it was leading up to.

Sorry everyone, I'm siding with Wahlberg on this one. It's mostly shit until we find out that they're Devil worshippers. In fact, if it hadn't said so in the title, I wouldn't have known as drawing a pentagram on the floor doesn't denote Satanism, just demented-ness as they never say anything about what's going on. They never say why they're sacrificing her, or even if that's what they're doing, she's just tied up and then escapes and is stalked through the house, which to me doesn't automatically mean Devil-worshipping. Beyond that, nothing happens at all, what does happen is of no interest and so much time goes by of just her by herself walking around that it's just utterly boring. Best film of 09? Utterly shit statement and totally false.
