After a late night party, a group of friends are awoken in the dead of the night by an eerie light beaming through the window. Like moths to a flame, the light source is drawing people outside before they suddenly vanish into the air. They soon discover an otherwordly force is swallowing the entire human population off the face of the earth. Now our band of survivors must fight for their lives as the world unravels around them.
What does everyone think of this?

Could be creepy, but I'm not seeing a lot of horror elements here.

Not for me.
And it's sucking people up, not the Earth.

Yeah it's still sucking. Close enough. So if something was sucking people up in your hometown you would not be scared?

Probably just on the basis of the event actually happening, but on an emotional level, not really. Outside of my family, I don't really know a whole lot of people in my hometown as I lost track of my friends after high school, who were pretty much the only ones I knew.

Yeah I don't really have many friends either, just one right now really and she lives outside of my home town.

Well, I really only know my family on anything more than a first-name basis (I do know the names of some neighbors, but beyond that, nothing) so I would most likely get caught up in the action of it actually happening, not the losing my friends side of things.

Well it looks like the people in the film are gonna have to deal with it and not watch the events on tv. Hopefully.

Yeah, that's true. It's probably one of those things that, in theory, it doesn't really work but in execution it pans out a lot better.

Hey as long as we get a couple scenes where in car they are trying to out speed it while it sucks up what's around them. That would be cool.
