Originally titled Long Weekend, Nature's Grave is director Jamie Blanks (Urban Legend, Valentine) near shot-for-shot remake of a moody 1978 Australian chiller about a bickering couple from the city (Jim Caviezel and Claudia Karvan of Aquamarine) that head out for a long weekend getaway on a secluded beach and find themselves on the wrong side of mother nature after not showing it the proper respect. Bugs and snakes and other local animals of the land, air, and sea don't take kindly to these city slickers tossing their trash about or shooting at the wildlife for kicks. Actually, Vex it does. This film takes about an hour before the animals even make an attempt to attack them, that time is taken up with the couple bitching with each other about how he's horny and she's not interested, then they'll spend ten minutes alone where he acts like a prick and she's by herself, then they come together and refresh the argument all over again. It's not worth the effort at all.
