In small coastal town Antonio Bay weird things begin happening just in time for its 100-year anniversary. People are found dead in mysterious ways and a strange fog is closing in on the town. As the local priest, Father Malone, finds an old, hidden diary he discovers that the people who lived in the town 100 years ago were responsible for killing and stealing from a ship, and now it seems like the ship's crew has returned for revenge...
What does everyone think of this?
Rather good and atmospheric. Nothing to be called a classic but good.

I've always liked it. Great cast, creepy, classic John Carpenter keyboard music. My favorite scene is when the woman is in the radio station and the piece of wood starts dripping over her tapes and you hear what appears to be one of the lepar's voices talking. That scene always freaked me out when I was little.

Usually you like those types of remakes, so I was actually a litle surprised you didn't like that one.

Dull, dreary, barely worthwhile and features only a few good moments. The remake is much better than this overrated mess.

Not really. It's the most expendable of Carpenter's early works. It's really not that great.
